You're looking for therapy that's intellectually serious, clinically rigorous, and genuinely human—the kind that's harder to find than it should be, wherever you are in the world.
I offer doctoral-level therapy rooted in U.S. training and an international perspective, for adults, couples, and families navigating life transitions, cultural complexity, and emotional issues—in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, via secure telehealth or in person in Florianópolis, Brazil.

U.S.-trained, English-speaking psychologist in Brazil offering therapy for expats and international professionals in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
My clinical practice is grounded in rigorous research and extensive clinical training. I provide a clear diagnostic formulation, a collaborative framework, and a compassionate, supportive presence. Treatment is tailored to your unique needs and goals. My practice integrates:
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
I examine the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, identifying patterns that may impact your mood, relationships, and quality of life. Using evidence-based strategies, we will work toward greater self-awareness, mindfulness, and meaningful change.
Relational, Person-Centered Approaches
Rooted in authenticity, empathy, and collaboration, I aim to create a safe, welcoming space where you may explore what truly matters to you. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a key source of healing and growth.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Approaches
Incorporating mindfulness, acceptance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, I focus on balancing acceptance of the present with motivation for change, helping you develop practical skills for resilience and growth.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
Together we will explore how your relationships and communication patterns affect your emotions and well-being. This approach helps you build healthier connections, improve interpersonal skills, and deepen awareness of yourself and others.
Clinical Training & Research Background
From the Amazon rainforest to Ivy League lecture halls, my journey in psychology has been shaped by both cultural richness and world-class training. I know what it means to navigate between worlds, and I use that experience to help my clients feel grounded, connected, and understood, wherever they are.
I earned my bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a decade of advanced clinical training in the United States. At Columbia University, I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, as well as a Master of Science and a Master of Philosophy. Along the way, I trained with leading clinicians and researchers at Harvard Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness and Compassion, the Dean Hope Center at Teachers College, the New York State Psychiatric Institute, and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital at both Weill Cornell and Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
My research has explored mindfulness, self-compassion, spirituality, positive psychology, and how these shape mental health, emotional regulation, and well-being. This work is not just academic; it directly informs the psychotherapy I provide to expatriates, international professionals, and globally minded individuals facing life transitions, cultural adjustment, and identity shifts.
My services include
Personalized Individual Psychotherapy
Supportive, Growth-Focused Couples Therapy
For couples seeking to strengthen their relationship, I provide a safe and constructive space to resolve conflicts, improve communication, and reconnect emotionally. We will work on relational, emotional, and narrative patterns that can transform how you and your partner understand and support each other.
I offer tailored therapy sessions that integrate cognitive-behavioral (CBT), relational, dialectical-behavioral (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, stress, role transitions or relationship concerns, our work will focus on practical strategies, emotional insight, and change.

Family Therapy
Families living abrad face unique pressures—children caught between cultures, parenting without extended family support, relational patterns amplified by cultural adjustment. I work with a limited number of families, bringing the same clinical rigor and relational warmth that guides my individual and couples work.
